Actually, Ickey, think of Missouri as more of the trend-setter, because my suspicion is that most states will eventually amend their burglary statutes accordingly (many of them may have already done so). I'm beginning to think such must be the case in Colorado.

And when you think about it, I guess it's not really such a stretch. I mean, the deal with burglary is that you've broke and entered into someone's private building, and the argument is, what difference does it make if your intention in so doing is to commit theft (felony) or battery (misdemeanor)? Lawyer-hat nothwithstanding, if I put on my common sense-hat, I honestly can't say as I have a gripe with Missouri's law.
